BC HORSE ANGELS

Creating alternatives to slaughter for BC horses.

“Boots Chubby Buttons”  was an 18 year old, registered Quarter Horse, broke to ride, in the kill pen about to ship to slaughter. BC Horse Angels members donated his bail fee and he was hauled to Salmon Arm, where he was evaluated and adopted to a forever home.

Boots turned out to be an extremely friendly, sound, well-broke horse.

How does a horse like this end up thrown away to slaughter? It’s tragic to even imagine that such a trusting, affectionate and well-trained horse could be tossed aside to face the stress of transport and terror of a horrific death. Sadly, slaughter is the ultimate betrayal for many horses just like Boots.

Lucky for Boots, he’s off to his new home in Pemberton with Darrel Wever. Thank you, Darrel!

Thank you for your continued support.  Your kindness is transforming the lives of B.C. horses and advancing the effort to end the slaughter of horses in Canada for human consumption.
