BC HORSE ANGELS

Creating alternatives to slaughter for BC horses.

Buck was a breeding stallion his whole life and at 20 years old, was dumped in the kill pen along with Pearl and three other brood mares that BC Horse Angels found homes for.

Buck was very thin and sick at the time. After having two rotten teeth pulled, he quickly put on weight and was gelded a couple of months later.

Pearl had several melanomas. It was unclear how long she’d remain healthy, but she’s been happy and playful, running and bucking with the other horses.

Buck’s gentle, kind nature is exceptional and he has become the herd babysitter.

Buck continues to spend time with Pearl and to look after the foals that were born to mares saved by BC Horse Angels.

Buck and Pearl are looking for a permanent sanctuary home together.

Thank you for your continued support.  Your kindness is transforming the lives of B.C. horses and advancing the effort to end the slaughter of horses in Canada for human consumption.
