BC HORSE ANGELS

Creating alternatives to slaughter for BC horses.

Larry was a 21 year old gelding that was run through the Kamloops auction. Belinda’s daughter, Reja, who was 12 years old at the time, had fallen in love with Larry and was holding the bidding card.

However, Larry had a lot of meat on his bones and the kill buyer wanted him too. The meat buyer didn’t care that he was bidding against a child and a private home.

After driving the price up beyond what would be profitable for meat, he finally gave up and BC Horse Angels won the bid.

You couldn’t find a kinder, more trusting and loyal horse than Larry.

The fact that the kill buyer tried so hard to get this beautiful pet horse, to kill him for his meat, is just one example that a great many horses being slaughtered are not in fact unwanted at all.

Thank you for your continued support.  Your kindness is transforming the lives of B.C. horses and advancing the effort to end the slaughter of horses in Canada for human consumption.
